The Revolution of 1936-39 in Palestine

Join the Party for Socialism and Liberation in our new two-part book club on Saturdays, June 15th and 29th from 11AM-1PM. We will be studying The Revolution of 1936-39 in Palestine by Ghassan Kanafani.
Ghassan Kanafani’s writing, action and the way he lived his life continue to inspire revolutionaries to this day.
Many have encountered Kanafani’s literary works such as Men in the Sun and The Land of Sad Oranges. Kanafani’s writings carry such power because of the intense sensitivity with which he lived his life. When you read Kanafani, you are confronted with a man who lived his life for the masses, with deep empathy and compassion, and curiosity for the condition of others.
It is impossible to separate Kanafani’s political and literary work. 10 days after Kanafani’s birth, the Palestinian revolution of 1936 erupted all across Palestine lasting until 1939. Join the PSL at the Milwaukee Liberation Center for a two part study of Ghassan Kanafani’s analysis of the 1936-1939 Revolution, a revolution in which his father participated in.
